You guys should have no problem with these guys. They stink. Really, they're bad. If the Flyers showed any kind of coordination or effort in the last game, it would have been a blowout. Pittsburgh won't have that problem, and should easily win 5-2.

Are you saying Adams will get 2 tonight to raise on his estimated 82 goals this year?

@TIOPS_DePaoli: #Penguins - #Hurricanes tonight. Should be a good game. Cam Ward has been strong in goal against Penguins, 1.85 GAA in last 9 games vs PIT

Pretty pumped to see Jokinen Malkin Bennett line. They probably will be matched up against Staal so that should be fund to watch as well.

Looking at the Canes roster, I just can't believe that they are a cap ceiling team.

Staal, Staal, Semin, and Ward drive the price up pretty quick.

Not a fan of seeing engelland in and bortuzzo out, but we have to raise engellands trade stock somehow right?

If maatta stays and letang comes back, does Despres really go back to the ahl? Rather see him doing something than sitting in the press box.

Well that answers my question. Do you think he stays there if maatta goes back to juniors and letang is healthy and role engelland and borts as the 6th/7th guy

I think he will be there until injuries dictate otherwise, which is fine. Better to have top minutes nightly than be the 7th or 8th guy in NHL.

Niskanen and Bortuzzo seem to be the bottom pairing when team is healthy.

I have no problem with that.

I think you can trade Despres then. To me, its obvious he has little future here right now.

Why would you trade Despres? Is a guy who hasn't cracked the top 6 on a nightly basis going to command too much as a RFA? He's not going anywhere and he will help this team later this year.

This place gets hilarious when we get scoring from 3rd...and especially 4th liners. I like it

I feel like the pace of this one tonight again will factor in BIG time. Also, as Gunner mentioned we aren't dealing with the backup like we did at the "Shirts Off Our Backs" game last season. That was a complete drubbing. Cam Ward has looked good.

The other thing to keep in kind is Staal(Jordan) in his current shutdown role. He's not really used well in Carolina offensively but he can still keep a top scorer off the sheet. I watched their game against Detroit. He kept Zetterberg in check all night.

If I could add anything, Gunner, it would be Jeff Skinner. He's played extremely well so far and has been a difference maker on all his shifts. He's gotten some interesting support too. Who would've that? Nathan Gerbe? Strange but he's been a big help down there. Instead of his customary dives of the past Skinner has made harder drives to the net and created better scoring opportunities. Our defense should be prepared for that tonight.

Because as it looks right now maatta, Harrington, Pouliot, and Dumoulin are developing just as good as Despres (if not then better), plus most of them are younger. If letang does stick around for his 8 years, then Despres will only be a 5th/6th defenseman for his career. I sure as hell wouldn't mind having that, but you know Despres is going to want something more. Really shouldn't trade him now until we know how the other guys pan out, but if they keep on developing at the pace they are now, then Despres gets sent I think

Ward always seems to play against us well. Hopefully we can get to him early. This is one of those teams that seem to stick around until opportunity comes and they take advantage. So far this season I have liked the way our third line has looked, hopefully that continues.

Ya know, I had notes on a Skinner and I guess I forgot to include them.

I'm going to add that in

@ice_chip: Tlusty-EStaal-Semin, Gerbe-JStaal-Dwyer, Skinner-Nash-Dvorak.

@ice_chip: Lindholm, Sutter, Bowman, Westgarth all working with fourth line. Other lines unchanged. Ruutu an extra.

Lindholm has been fun to watch so far. Keep your eye on him a bit tonight.
